Reconstruction of 6 railway lines in the West of Georgia Print E-mail

Kulevi Oil and Oil Products’ Transhipment Marine Terminal signed a number of contracts with Georgian Railway.According to one of the signed contracts Kulevi Marine Terminal undertook an obligation to reconstruct six railway lines at Samtredia station in the west of Georgia. The reconstructed railway lines are 5 km long. The rehabilitation had been running since the beginning of August.

Putting into operation of these six railway lines will give the Terminal an opportunity to receive more wagons at railway stations and considerably makes easier their dispatch. Furthermore Kulevi Marine Terminal undertook to reconstruct the 870 m long railway line till the station “Agurkarkhana”, as well as the railway line in the region of Khobi, which is also 870 m long. The Chaladidi station is also being reconstructed with adding two new lines.

As expected all these works will allow increasing the annual turnover of oil transhipment through the Terminal.
