The facility produces gradual cleaning and decontamination of oily waters by passing the contaminated substances through its sand and charcoal filters and contains a number of operations.

1. Mr. Karim, please introduce you to the reader. Who is Karim Guliyev?
   
   

 I was born in Azerbaijan. In 1991 I graduated from Oil Academy of Azerbaijan, the faculty of Development and Exploitation of oil deposits. I have been working in BP for 10 years. I’m married, and have got three children.

2. When construction of the Terminal started, it was difficult to believe in implementation of this project. And today it is one of the biggest companies of Western Georgia. How do you think, is the Terminal a continuation of Silk Road?  

At that time on the Black Sea coast, particularly in the village of Kulevi, where no modern infrastructure was developed, it was really unbelievable. It was very difficult to imagine that such a big project as Kulevi Oil Terminal is could be implemented. But there is nothing impossible and unbelievable where human mind and modern technique is. Our company – is a terminal, transshipping oil and oil products of Azerbaijani and Asian deposits. It is to say that the Terminal and Port of Kulevi – is one of the Silk Road branches.

3. Please tell us about the company structure and about business relations at international scene.

Kulevi Oil Terminal and Port continues its work in a usual regime, i.e. without any obstacles or barriers. The appropriate departments ensure safe operations and control functioning equipment. Thus during July we accepted 409778 tons of oil and oil products and loaded 407982 tons, which is 4% more than in the month of June.
